Christmas, CHRISTmas time is here! Part Two

Dear Rebecca Jane,

Thank you for your letter! I haven't heard from you in a while.

As far as how you feel about the Christmas music, I'm with you. Sometimes we all could use a break from it. Honestly, it gets over used during the holiday season and then you can't play it on your birthday because people give you the look. (I still do it anyway -- in the middle of August too!)

And as for what your friend does, she has a point. Jesus did come down to earth as a baby and he grew to be a man and died on the cross to make a way for us to be with him in Heaven. He loved us so much he gave his only son. When we realize this, our life becomes so much more of a gift to us. One that could be taken at any moment.

There really isn't any "right" way to get into the Christmas spirit. But one thing is for sure -- and that is, Christmas music is going to be around at one point or another. I would say just try to take part in the fun that your family is having. It won't be that way forever. Have you thought about when you are ready for college, and how when you move out you won't have your crazy parents and brother with you to annoy you? Take advantage of the memories that can be made this holiday season.

Hope all is well with you and yours this holiday,

Grace Columbine

Note to my fans: The situation that Rebecca is going through right now may be the place you are in right now. Or maybe you are parents that are empty nesting for the first time and you really miss all the fun traditions you had when they were growing up. I encourage you to reach out, share the memories, the laughter. It is all so special and important. In this week leading up to Christmas, spend time enjoying family.
